What drives the price
Linear footage first. Then height — a two-story or three-story elevation costs more per foot than a ranch because of access and staging.
Roof pitch matters. Steep roofs slow the work down. So does complex roofline geometry: dormers, valleys, and short offset runs all cost more per foot than one long straight elevation.
Guard type is the other lever. Micro-mesh costs more than screen, and it should — it's the one that works.
Installed with new gutter vs added later
Doing guard at the same time as a gutter replacement is meaningfully cheaper. The crew, the staging and the trip are already paid for.
Adding guard later means a separate mobilization for the same linear footage. If replacement is coming in the next few years, wait and do them together.
The cleaning math
Price out two or three cleanings a year, multiply by ten years, and compare. On a heavily wooded lot in Kirkwood, Wildwood or Town and Country, guard usually wins inside four years.
On a house with no trees near it, it may never win, and we'll tell you so.
What we won't do on price
Quote guard over gutter that's sagging, holding water, or worn out. Guard on a failing system is money spent on the wrong problem.
Quote it over the phone. Footage, height and roof geometry decide the number, and none of those can be measured on a call.
