What storm damage looks like on a gutter
Hail leaves dimples across the face and can bend the front lip enough to change how water sits in the trough. It also dents the downspouts, which is often the easiest place to document it.
Wind detaches runs at the ends and lifts sections off hangers. Limb strikes crease or fold a section outright.
None of that requires the gutter to be on the ground to be a valid claim.
Document it before anything gets touched
Photos from the ground and from a ladder, wide and close. Get the date of the storm. Keep any pieces that came down.
Note the direction of the damage — hail on the north elevation and nothing on the south is exactly the kind of detail an adjuster looks for.
How it usually works
A free inspection documents what's there. If it's storm-related we put it in writing with photos, and that goes to the adjuster.
